Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Physician specializing in Obstetrics/Gynecology for a locum tenens opportunity in Minnesota, starting Nov 16, 2026. This role involves 24-hour shifts, focusing on co-managing high-acuity Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) patients, including those on ECMO, providing delivery responsibility for complex cases, and assisting with various obstetrical procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Co-manage ECMO patients alongside MFM physicians and ICU providers, acting as primary decision-makers for complex cases.
- Undertake delivery responsibility for the highest-acuity patients, including CVICU and ICU deliveries.
- Manage a predominantly high-risk patient population, often requiring Maternal-Fetal Medicine involvement.
- Provide obstetric coverage, including labor and delivery care, and co-manage patients with MFM specialists.
- Cover undoctored or unassigned OB patients as required.
- Collaborate closely with in-house OBGYN providers for mutual support and assistance.
- Primarily cover the MFM service and its patient population.
- Be available for urgent obstetric needs and emergencies on the unit.
- Assist other OB providers with c-sections and various obstetrical procedures.
- Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine and ICU teams in managing rare ECMO-level care for pregnant and postpartum patients.
