We are seeking a dedicated Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician for a 13-day assignment in Iowa, starting Nov 25, 2026. This role involves providing 24-hour in-house call from 7 AM to 7 AM, managing OBED patients, emergent vaginal and C-section deliveries, and comprehensive care for patients without a primary OB/GYN, offering crucial support to OBED and Labor & Delivery units.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage OBED patients and emergent cases, including vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
Provide care for patients without a primary OB/GYN.
Assume responsibility for managing labor and performing deliveries.
Offer overall support for the OBED and L&D units.
Conduct rapid evaluation and management of obstetric patients presenting to the OB Emergency Department, initiating care within 30 minutes.
Manage high-acuity obstetric cases, coordinating admissions, transfers, and operative care with peer communication.
Deliver comprehensive antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for unassigned and transfer patients.
Oversee labor management, fetal monitoring, procedures, and delivery assistance.
Provide courtesy deliveries when the primary OB/GYN is unavailable.
Serve as the clinical lead during obstetric emergencies and rapid response events.
Remain available for OB consults.
