Job Description
Our client in Ohio is seeking an experienced Obstetrician/Gynecologist for a 9-day locum tenens assignment. This nocturnal Physician will provide comprehensive obstetric care, including triage, labor and delivery, antepartum, and postpartum services, with a schedule of 7 PM to 7 AM. The role involves collaboration with certified nurse midwives and supporting nocturnist responsibilities to ensure excellent patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide obstetric care during the night shift, including triage, labor and delivery, antepartum, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with certified nurse midwives onsite to manage patients, providing support and overseeing practices as needed.
- Provide support for nocturnist responsibilities as required.
- Cover four private practice groups, two of which have certified nurse midwives onsite providing 24/7 on-call support.
- Manage an average of 45 deliveries per month.
- Ensure excellent patient care and safety during labor and delivery, adhering to established protocols.
- No gynecology call responsibilities; this is covered by the private practice.
- Provide back-up obstetric on-call support for the private practices.
- Work within a supportive, collaborative team of obstetricians, gynecologists, certified nurse midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
- Manage obstetric triage, delivery, and post-partum care.
- Oversee certified nurse midwives while supporting the nocturnist role.
