Physician - Hematologist/Oncologist

Job Description

Our client in Iowa is seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Hematology/Oncology for a 21-day assignment starting Sep 28, 2026. This role involves providing medical Hematology/Oncology coverage four days per week, working 8a-5p with a call schedule to be determined. The Physician will focus primarily on outpatient care, comprising 95% of duties, with a 5% inpatient component.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide medical Hematology/Oncology coverage primarily for outpatient needs (95%) and a smaller inpatient component (5%).
• Perform patient assessments.
• Develop new treatment plans.
• Manage ongoing treatment plans and changes in therapy.
• Refer for ancillary services.
• Provide end of life care.
• Manage chemotherapy.
• Manage pain (radiation and surgical oncology management provided by existing providers).
