Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated Critical Care Hospitalist Physician Assistant for an 84-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan, commencing Jul 6, 2026. This vital role involves managing an open ICU model, with an anticipated average daily census of 22 patients and approximately 2-4 admissions per day, ensuring comprehensive patient care within a critical care setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage ICU patients within an open ICU model.
- Manage an average daily census of approximately 22 patients.
- Handle 2-4 admissions per day.
- Perform Indirect Laryngoscopy Intubation.
- Execute Insertion and Management of Central Venous Catheters.
- Perform Insertion and Management of Arterial Catheters.
- Administer Moderate Sedation.
- Perform Lumbar Puncture.
- Conduct Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation.
- Manage Ventilators, including readiness for and administering respirator weaning/oxygen therapy and extubation, and assessing need for intubation.
- Perform Insertion of Arterial Lines and Central Venous Lines, either percutaneously or by cut down.
- Execute Chest Tube Insertion.
- Provide Tracheostomy care, including tube changes.
- Perform Arterial Line Insertion and Removal (Radial and Femoral).
- Execute CVC Line Placement.
- Provide External Pacing, including adjusting temporary epicardial, transvenous, or transcutaneous pacemakers as necessary.
- Manage Tension Pneumothorax in emergent situations.
- Perform Paracentesis.
