Physician Assistant - Urgent Care

Job Description

Our client in West Virginia is seeking an Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 60-day assignment starting Nov 2, 2026. This role involves managing a typical urgent care caseload, attending to patients with common ailments such as cold and flu symptoms, rashes, abrasions, sprains, and minor burns, and performing procedures like splinting. Shifts are scheduled from 8a-8p, ensuring comprehensive coverage for patient needs, with high acuity cases referred to the local emergency room.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with cold and flu symptoms, rashes, abrasions, sprains, and minor burns
• Perform minor procedures such as splinting
• Refer high acuity cases to the local emergency room as appropriate
• Provide comprehensive urgent care services in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

• Board Certifications: Urgent Care
• EMR: Epic
• Patients per day volume: 3-4 patients per hour
• Staffing Mix: Medical assistants and rad techs onsite; sites staffed with 1-3 providers per day; remote physician available for escalation if a physician is not on site
