Job Description
We are seeking an Interventional Cardiologist Physician for a 64-day assignment in Utah, commencing Nov 2, 2026. This role involves direct patient care, providing comprehensive cardiology and interventional cardiology consultative services, including cardiac catheterization and various percutaneous revascularization procedures. The schedule for this assignment is to be determined.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide direct patient care, estimated at 100% of the time.
- Deliver cardiology and interventional cardiology consultative services for cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures.
- Perform various percutaneous revascularization procedures including pericardiocentesis, endocardial biopsies, intra-aortic balloon device placement, balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, endoluminal stenting, intravascular ultrasound, intra-coronary Doppler flow velocity measurements, and rhyolitic thrombectomy.
- Manage patients prior to, during, and following percutaneous revascularization procedures, including high-risk coronary and peripheral vascular percutaneous procedures.
- Be present on time for scheduled Clinic and Cardiac Catheterization Lab start times.
- Ensure mechanisms are in place for notification of test results to providers and patients.
- Adhere to all established medication policies and procedures.
- Provide discharge education and follow up instructions coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.
- Complete appropriate Quality Management/Performance Improvement documentation for all procedures, complications, and examination outcomes.
- Comply with all established patient safety and infection control standards of care.
- Document and report patient safety incidents, medication errors, and patient injuries in the medical record and through the VA Patient Safety Reporting System within 24 hours.
