Physician - Gastroenterologist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Gastroenterologist to join our client's team in WV for a 120-day assignment. This role involves 7-on/7-off GI Hospitalist coverage with 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts, typically day shifts with night call coverage, and offers flexibility for longer consecutive assignments. The physician will work alongside a robust support staff including APPs, RNs, LPNs, and MAs across three GI locations, focusing on general GI hospitalist needs and advanced GI cases where APPs conduct preliminary evaluations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide general GI Hospitalist care
• Manage a variety of gastroenterology cases
• Collaborate with 9 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), some of whom are trained in advanced GI for preliminary patient evaluations
• Work closely with RNs, LPNs, and MAs across three GI locations to ensure comprehensive patient support

• Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

• Setting: Inpatient
• Call Schedule: Out of House Call
• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• LOA: 120 Days
• Staffing Mix: 9 APPs and several RNs that work as support staff, with additional LPNs and MAs across 3 GI locations
