Job Description
We are seeking a Family Practice Physician for an impactful 135-day assignment in Georgia. This role involves comprehensive patient care within an inpatient correctional facility, with a flexible schedule of 5x8s or 4x10s, focusing on medical exams, diagnoses, treatments, and oversight of the facilitys medical program. The Physician will provide professional medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide medical exams, diagnoses, prescriptions, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Lead and oversee the facility’s medical program and staff.
- Evaluate patient care, treatment plans, and standards of care.
- Conduct clinical rounds, admissions, clinics, and treatment team meetings.
- Perform minor and necessary major surgical procedures.
- Monitor serious illnesses and hospitalizations and coordinate appropriate care.
- Develop and implement medical policies and ensure regulatory/accreditation compliance.
- Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential medical records.
- Promote efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality healthcare services.
- Collaborate with facility staff, hospitals, outside providers, and agencies.
- Provide staff leadership, training, health education, and counseling.
- Maintain clear communication among medical staff, administration, and residents.
- Participate in meetings, seminars, and on-call duties.
