Job Description

We are actively recruiting a skilled Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 159-day assignment in South Dakota, commencing Sep 1, 2026. This role involves 10a-10p shifts within a trauma setting, where you will manage a diverse patient population presenting with common illnesses, injuries like broken bones and sports injuries, and critical cases such as chest pain and stroke, while also overseeing a inpatient unit.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide care within a Trauma setting.
  • Manage a wide array of cases including urinary tract infections, abdominal pain, colds, flu, COVID-19, ear infections, sore throats, and sports injuries.
  • Treat broken bones and perform stitching.
  • Address critical presentations such as chest pain, heart attack, and stroke (with cardiologist tele-monitoring for beds; full blown heart/stroke cases transferred).
  • Utilize on-site X-ray and lab facilities.
  • Collaborate with an ambulance company through an established contract.
  • Assume responsibility for a inpatient unit and respond to codes as needed.
