Job Description
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 90-day assignment in Florida. This role involves 12-hour shifts, covering primarily freestanding emergency departments with occasional work at the main hospital, managing a diverse range of low to high acuity emergency cases. Responsibilities include treating broken bones, head injuries, severe abdominal pain, and addressing signs of heart attack. Day and night coverage is needed.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care for broken or fractured bones, head injuries, and other major traumas.
- Address loss of consciousness, one-sided weakness or numbness, and severe abdominal pain.
- Manage cases involving severe bleeding, signs of heart attack, including chest pain, and uncontrolled pain or bleeding.
- Treat low to moderate acuity patients at freestanding emergency departments.
- Provide care for moderate to high acuity patients at the main hospital.
- Manage an estimated patient volume of 2–2.5 per hour during peak periods.

- Staffing Mix: Single physician coverage at freestanding emergency departments; multiple Emergency Medicine providers at the main hospital, with Nurse/APP triage available for lower-acuity patients at the main hospital only.
