Job Description
Our client in Oklahoma is seeking a dedicated Dentist for a 90-day assignment starting Oct 26, 2026. This role involves a consistent 7 AM to 4 PM schedule, focusing on comprehensive dental care. The successful candidate will examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients, ensure accurate electronic documentation of services, and facilitate appropriate referrals, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen.
- Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchased Referred Care vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines.
- Proficiently document services utilizing the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters.
- Complete all required administrative paperwork within 24-hours of patient visit, to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences, and peer review as required.
- Be responsible for actions necessary for The Joint Commission (TJC) standard compliance and administrative policies as directed.
- Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department health care providers on an as-needed basis.
- Provide dental services as needed, make preliminary diagnoses, direct, prescribe or provide treatment, or arrange for specialized dental care or patient referral as required, following Indian Health Services guidelines for referrals.
- Assume responsibility for the diagnosis, care, and treatment of patients and emergency cases in the capacity of a staff dentist.
