Job Description

• Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen
• Recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchased Referred Care vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines
• Proficiently document services utilizing the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters
• Complete all required administrative paperwork within 24-hours of patient visit to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review, as required
• Be responsible for actions necessary for The Joint Commission (TJC) standard compliance and administrative policies, as directed
• Provide consultation to the Hospital Emergency Department heath care providers on an as needed basis
• Provide dental services as needed, make preliminary diagnoses direct, prescribe or provide treatment or arrange for specialized dental care or patient referral as required, following Indian Health Services guidelines for referrals
• Assume responsibility for the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients and emergency cases in the capacity of a staff dentist

• EMR: Dentrix, RPMS
• Setting: Outpatient clinic only
• Patient Volume: Approximately 16 patients per day
• LOA: 180 Days
• Procedures include: Crowns, Fillings, Bridges, Dentures, Implants, Root Canals, Simple Extractions, Surgical Extractions, Endo Molar Endo, Sealants, Partials, X-rays, Invisalign; with a focus on general dentistry like fillings, exams, and extractions
