Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for an exciting 90-day assignment in Washington, starting Jul 20, 2026. This role involves a Monday through Friday schedule with call (1-2 weekdays and weekends), focusing on a variety of complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including open general CV/thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery on pump, and valvular repairs/replacements.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform open general cardiovascular/thoracic surgery
  • Conduct coronary artery bypass surgery on pump
  • Execute valvular repair procedures
  • Execute valvular replacement procedures
  • Participate in cardiac and aorto-thoracic aneurysm repair
  • Perform lung resections, including VATS procedures
  • Engage in chest wall or pleural procedures
  • Manage Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
  • Oversee ventilation management
  • Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
  • Perform central line insertions
