Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist for a 60-day assignment in Pennsylvania. The schedule involves Monday through Friday 8 or 10-hour shifts with weekday and weekend call responsibilities. In this role, you will manage a mix of solo cases and supervise CRNAs within a care team model, focusing on general surgical, orthopedic, and gynecological procedures while excluding pediatric patients under 13, open heart, and neuro cases.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work within a collaborative care team model
- Manage cases independently from pre-op through finish 50% of the time
- Provide supervision for 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 nurse anesthetists for the remaining 50% of cases
- Perform anesthesia for mostly bread and butter orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, podiatry, urology, and labor and delivery cases
- Ensure no pediatric patients under 13 years old are seen for OR cases
- Avoid open heart, neuro, and cardiac anesthesia cases
Additional Information
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology required
- Required certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- EMR: Epic
- Setting: Predominantly inpatient (85%) with clinic and call responsibilities
- Call Schedule: Out of House Call, including weekday shifts from 5p-7a and weekend shifts 24 hours from 7a-7a
- Estimated shifts per month: 20
- LOA: 60 Days
- Staffing Mix: Opportunity to work solo; supervision of 1 to 4 CRNAs
