Our client in Texas is actively seeking a Pediatrician Physician to commence an assignment on Sep 14, 2026. This essential role involves providing comprehensive professional medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care within a correctional facility, ensuring high standards of health services for inmates/residents.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide professional medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care to inmates/residents in a correctional facility.
Administer examinations, diagnose medical and other problems, prescribe medications, and provide treatment and follow-up care.
Offer leadership and direction for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Supervisor.
Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates/residents.
Interview inmates/residents and make decisions on admissions.
Conduct clinical rounds.
Participate in treatment team meetings to devise, review, and alter individual health plans for inmates/residents.
Direct unit treatment operations.
Perform minor surgery and occasional major surgery, if deemed necessary.
Hold clinics for nursing specialists, assisting in diagnosis, treatment determination, and establishing prescriptions and protocols.
Maintain strong working relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside provider agencies.
