Physician - Pediatrician

Job Description

Our client in Texas is actively seeking a Pediatrician Physician to commence an assignment on Sep 14, 2026. This essential role involves providing comprehensive professional medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care within a correctional facility, ensuring high standards of health services for inmates/residents.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide professional medical direction, oversight, and direct patient care to inmates/residents in a correctional facility.
• Administer examinations, diagnose medical and other problems, prescribe medications, and provide treatment and follow-up care.
• Offer leadership and direction for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Supervisor.
• Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates/residents.
• Interview inmates/residents and make decisions on admissions.
• Conduct clinical rounds.
• Participate in treatment team meetings to devise, review, and alter individual health plans for inmates/residents.
• Direct unit treatment operations.
• Perform minor surgery and occasional major surgery, if deemed necessary.
• Hold clinics for nursing specialists, assisting in diagnosis, treatment determination, and establishing prescriptions and protocols.
• Maintain strong working relationships with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside provider agencies.
