Physician - Pediatrician

Job Description

Our client in California is seeking a dedicated Pediatrician for a 5-day assignment starting Sep 16, 2026. This role involves comprehensive patient care, including morning rounds in the nursery, managing a busy clinic during the day for physicals and sick visits, and providing on-call coverage for C-sections in the evenings. The clinic schedule typically runs from 7 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a focused approach to pediatric health without handling trauma cases.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct morning rounds in the nursery, typically caring for 3-5 newborn babies
• Manage a clinic schedule from 10 AM to 5 PM, seeing an average of 30 patients per day
• Provide on-call coverage for C-sections from 5 PM to 7 AM, with approximately 5 occurrences per month
• Perform physicals, sports physicals, and sick visits
• Refer trauma cases, such as stitches and broken bones, to the Emergency Room
• Participate in C-section deliveries when on call

Additional Information

• Board Certification in Pediatrics required
• EMR system utilized: Epic
• Work setting includes both inpatient (nursery, C-section call) and outpatient clinic responsibilities
• Call schedule: 5 PM to 7 AM for C-sections, approximately 5 occurrences per month
• Average patient volume: 30 patients per day in clinic, 3-5 babies for morning nursery rounds
