Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a Physician specializing in Pathology for a locum tenens position at a hospital in South Carolina. This 120-day assignment begins on 12/01/2025, and involves working regular weekday hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pathologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive laboratory and pathology services, including specimen analysis, report generation, and collaboration with other healthcare providers. This role requires expertise in general pathology and laboratory medicine, with no on-call duties. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with a wide range of pathological examinations and laboratory procedures. This position offers the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform comprehensive pathological examinations and laboratory analyses

• Interpret laboratory results and prepare detailed pathology reports

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure accurate diagnoses

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and tumor boards as needed

• Maintain quality control and assurance in laboratory procedures

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in pathology and laboratory medicine

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards

• Contribute to the education and training of medical staff and residents, if applicable

• Utilize laboratory information systems for efficient data management and reporting


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in South Carolina

• Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is preferred

• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
