Physician - Oncology - Medical

Job Description

Our client in SC is actively seeking a Medical Oncology Physician for a 30-day assignment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This essential role involves participation on a Tumor Board, comprehensive management of bone marrow transplants, overseeing blood bank operations, and proficiently ordering tests, images, and prescriptions for patients.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Participate on a Tumor Board
• Manage Bone Marrow Transplants
• Oversee Blood Bank operations
• Order diagnostic tests
• Order imaging studies
• Prescribe necessary medications
• Manage a patient volume exceeding 12 patients per day
• Treat oncology cases, comprising approximately 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology

Additional Information

• Board Certifications: Hematology and Medical Oncology
• Other Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Inpatient. Outpatient and hospital services are distinct and not covered concurrently by one provider.
• Call Schedule: Out of house call
• Patients per day: Approximately 20 patients per day during hospital call or rounding
• LOA: 30 days
• Staffing Mix: 7 Physicians in practice with 6 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) providing coverage
