Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Obstetrician/Gynecologist Physician for an in-house, 90-day assignment in Iowa. This role involves comprehensive 24-hour shifts, including weekdays and some weekends, focusing on triaging and delivering OB patients, covering ER calls, rounding on unit patients, and managing unassigned cases.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Triage and deliver OB patients, with an average of 65-80 deliveries per month.
- Cover emergency room calls for OB/GYN.
- Conduct rounds on patients within the unit.
- Manage unassigned patients, typically one or fewer per day.
- Perform circumcisions when capable (optional).
- Provide 24-hour in-house call coverage.
- Manage various cases, including low-risk pregnancies (e.g., history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis).
- Care for high-risk pregnancies (e.g., with toxemia, diabetes, Class II or Higher Cardiacs, chronic lung problems, chronic renal disease).
- Interpret Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) results from NST/CST/FSE.
- Perform Level I/Screening OB ultrasounds for viability.
- Conduct amniocentesis procedures.
