Job Description

Our client is seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in Gastroenterology for a 260-day assignment in Maine, commencing Aug 3, 2026. This role involves providing comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services, including various colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy procedures, typically working a consistent schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services.
  • Be present on time for all scheduled clinics and surgeries.
  • Perform a full range of colonoscopy procedures, including colonoscopy via colostomy, with biopsy, with ablation of tumor/polyp/lesion, with removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps or snare technique, and without biopsy.
  • Perform a full range of Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures, including diagnostic EGD, EGD with biopsy, and EGD with removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps or snare technique.
  • Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside for non-ambulatory patients and in the clinic setting for ambulatory patients.
  • Schedule procedures for completion within 30 days of the consult date.
  • Adhere to all established medication policies and procedures.
  • Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions coordinated with the next care setting for all gastroenterology clinical or surgical patients.
