Job Description
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 36-day assignment in Texas. The ideal candidate will be open to all shifts, including 7a-7p and 7p-7a, providing comprehensive emergency care. This role involves performing typical ED procedures such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, conscious sedation, fracture reduction, and laceration repair for a diverse patient population.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform intubation, central line placement, and chest tube insertion.
- Administer conscious sedation and manage emergent situations.
- Conduct fracture reduction and laceration repair.
- Handle all typical emergency department procedures and presentations.
Additional Information
- Board Certifications: Emergency Medicine
- Other Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
- EMR: Meditech EHR
- Setting: Inpatient
- Call Schedule: No Call
- Patient Volume: Approximately 115 patients per day at the main ED, 70 patients per day at FSED
- LOA: 36 Days
- Staffing Mix: Adequate nurses, techs, paramedics, and security. Four physicians per day at Main ED, two at FSED, and two APPs per day at all sites.
- Cases: All typical emergency department presentations; no low acuity cases at the Main ED.
