Job Description
Our client in Iowa is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 4-day assignment starting Jul 24, 2026. This role involves 24-hour shifts with 24/7 call coverage, primarily focusing on emergency department and inpatient floor coverage. The successful candidate will manage 6-8 ED encounters daily, participate in 8 am rounding, and address cases such as CHF, Cellulitis, COPD, and Gastro.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide coverage for the Emergency Department and Inpatient floor
- Work 24-hour shifts
- Manage 24/7 call coverage
- Participate in 8 am rounding with the interdisciplinary team
- Conduct weekly swing bed rounding for transition of care discussions
- Handle an average of 6-8 ED encounters per day
- Treat cases with acuity including CHF, Cellulitis, COPD, and Gastro
