Job Description

We are seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for our client in California. This 18-day assignment, starting Jul 13, 2026, involves assisting with heart and thoracic surgeries, performing daily rounds, writing post-op patient notes, and conducting follow-up clinics. The schedule includes onsite shifts from 7a-5p followed by night call from 5p-7a.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with heart and thoracic surgeries, including approximately 10-11 heart surgeries per month.
  • Perform daily rounds and write post-op patient notes, often in collaboration with surgeons.
  • Manage less than 10 hospitalized patients at a time.
  • Conduct follow-up clinics on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, seeing up to 6 patients.
  • Address urgent patient issues outside of regular clinic days as needed.
  • Provide coverage with onsite shifts from 7a-5p and night call from 5p-7a; call back is minimal.
  • Possess recent and substantial cardiovascular surgical assist experience.
  • EVH experience (Maquet Hemopro 2) is required.
