Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiovascular & Thoracic

Job Description

Our client in California is seeking a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a 90-day assignment beginning Jul 13, 2026. This role involves a schedule of 7a-5p with night call from 5p-7a. The Physician Assistant will assist with cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, perform daily rounds, write post-operative notes, and conduct follow-up clinics.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist with approximately 10-11 heart surgeries per month and other thoracic cases.
• Participate in daily morning rounds.
• Write notes on post-operative patients, sometimes as a shared duty with surgeons.
• Manage less than 10 hospitalized patients at a time.
• Conduct follow-up clinics in the afternoon on Tuesday and Thursday, seeing up to 6 patients.
• See patients at other times for urgent issues that cannot wait until the next clinic day.
