Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a 30-day locum tenens assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Feb 9, 2026. This position offers flexible 24-hour shifts (7a-7a), with coverage ranging from 3 to 10 consecutive days per month, covering both inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic services. The assignment provides an excellent opportunity to work multiple consecutive shifts as needed and to begin coverage in February.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Cover the cardiothoracic surgery service, including inpatient rounding with advanced practice providers
  • Supervise and perform procedures such as CABG, mitral valve, aortic procedures, and TAVR
  • See patients in the outpatient clinic as needed
  • Manage emergency OR cases and emergency consults
  • Provide rare overnight coverage; overnight emergencies are infrequent
  • Participate in flexible scheduling based on locum availability


Additional Information

  • Must have a current Pennsylvania medical license or active IMLC
  • Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery required
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 3 years cardiothoracic surgery experience
