Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiothoracic to join our client's team in Kentucky. This 49-day assignment, starting Nov 26, 2024, involves Monday-Friday day shifts and night call, plus weekend 24-hour shifts. The role includes surgical duties such as vein harvest and chest tube placement, first assisting in complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries, and performing inpatient rounds, procedures, and surgery duties on weekends, alongside telemetry and ICU responsibilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform surgical CT procedures, vein harvest, and chest tube placement.
- First assist in complex surgical cases including CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection.
- Manage OR duties, telemetry, and ICU responsibilities.
- Conduct inpatient rounds, procedures, and surgery duties during weekend shifts.
Additional Information
- Board Certification: Cardiothoracic Surgery is required.
- Other Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are required.

- Setting: Inpatient.
- Call Schedule: Out of house call is required.
- Patient Volume: Approximately 1-2 surgeries daily.
- LOA: 49 Days.
- Staffing Mix: Provides support for surgeons.
