Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Anesthetist for a 60-day assignment in North Carolina, starting Apr 6, 2026. This role involves providing anesthesia for a diverse range of cases including General Surgery, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, Endoscopy, and Robotics. Shifts typically begin with OR arrival at 6:45 AM, case start at 7:00 AM, and conclude between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, with specific regional anesthesia procedures reserved for MDAs.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide anesthesia for a diverse range of surgical cases including General Surgery, Obstetrics and C Sections, Orthopedics, Endoscopy, GI, Urology, Pediatrics ENT (ages 2+), and Robotics.
  • Manage patient care with a keen awareness of a lower income population exhibiting higher BMI and ASA levels, ensuring appropriate anesthetic plans.
  • Adhere to a shift schedule with OR arrival at 6:45 AM, 7:00 AM case start time, and variable end times of 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, or 7:00 PM.
  • Note: The locum Anesthetist will not perform Spinals, Epidurals, Nerve Blocks, Upper/Lower Blocks, or Fiber Optics; these procedures are exclusively conducted by the MDA.
