Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a Physician specializing in Vascular Surgery for a locum tenens position in Pennsylvania. This 18-day assignment begins on 06/01/2026, and involves providing coverage for 24-hour shifts at a Trauma Hospital. The schedule includes two weekends per month, from Friday 8 AM through Monday 8 AM, with additional sporadic PTO coverage that may extend into weekdays. The physician will be responsible for rounding in the hospital with APPs on consults, managing new consults, handling discharges, and performing inpatient procedures in the OR or IR labs. This role requires collaboration with various on-site specialties and proficiency in Epic EHR. The position offers the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide 24-hour shift coverage for vascular surgery services

• Round in the hospital with APPs on consults and new consults

• Manage patient discharges

• Perform inpatient procedures in OR or IR labs

• Collaborate with other on-site specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, IR, Trauma, EP, Interventional Cardio, General Cardio, Ortho, Foot & Ankle, and Plastic Surgery

• Utilize Epic EHR system for patient care and documentation

• Ensure patient safety and deliver high-quality care

• Adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards

• Maintain clear communication with healthcare team members and patients


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania

• Experience in vascular surgery and trauma care is essential

• Ability to adapt to new environments and work systems quickly

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting

• Flexibility to cover sporadic PTO, which may require extended weekday coverage
