Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in West Virginia, starting Jan 5, 2026. This opportunity offers consistent day shifts from Monday through Sunday, with flexible options for full-time or part-time coverage.

  • Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 8am-8pm; full-time (12+ shifts per month) or part-time (10+ shifts per month)


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide urgent care services to patients of all ages
  • Diagnose and manage a variety of acute medical conditions
  • Perform orthopedic procedures, including splinting
  • Deliver wound care, including suturing, incision and drainage
  • Order and interpret X-rays and EKGs as needed
  • Draw blood, start IVs, and administer injections
  • Work independently without supervision
  • Travel between clinic sites within a 30-mile radius
  • Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation


Additional Information

  • Minimum 2 years experience in urgent care or 1 year in emergency medicine required
  • Must hold a current West Virginia state license and DEA registration
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
  • CSR license required
  • Must submit a recent NPDB self-query (within 30 days)
  • Must be comfortable treating pediatric and adult patients
