We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in West Virginia. Schedule: Monday through Sunday, 8am-8pm; full-time (12+ shifts/month) or part-time (10+ shifts/month)
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide urgent care services for patients of all ages
Independently assess and manage common urgent and emergent conditions
Perform orthopedic procedures such as splinting
Conduct wound care, including suturing, incision and drainage
Interpret X-rays and EKGs
Administer injections, draw blood, and manage IVs
Document all patient encounters in Epic EMR
Travel between assigned sites (within 30 miles) as needed
Additional Information
Minimum 2 years of urgent care experience or 1 year of emergency medicine experience required
Must be comfortable working independently
Active West Virginia state license required
Must hold current DEA and CSR licenses
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Board certification not required
Must submit NPDB self-query (no more than 30 days old) with application
Drug screen and background check within the last 12 months required upon offer
Must indicate comfort level with suturing, wound care, splinting, X-rays, EKGs, blood draws, injections, and pediatrics during presentation
