Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Urgent Care for a locum tenens assignment in West Virginia. This opportunity involves covering shifts at multiple locations, with sites no more than 30 miles apart. The assignment begins on 09/01/2025, and lasts for 72 days, with potential for extension. The provider will work 12-hour shifts from 8 am to 8 pm, with both full-time (12+ shifts per month) and part-time (6+ shifts per month) options available. The ideal candidate should have experience in urgent care or emergency medicine and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Mon-Sun, 8 am - 8 pm (FT: 12+ shifts/month, PT: 6+ shifts/month)

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide urgent care services to patients of all ages

• Diagnose and treat common illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions

• Perform suturing, wound care, and incision and drainage procedures

• Apply splints and interpret X-rays and EKGs

• Draw blood and start IVs as needed

• Manage pediatric patients with various conditions

• Handle cold/flu symptoms, rashes, lacerations, abrasions, sprains, and minor burns

• Refer high acuity cases to the local ER when necessary

• Work independently and collaboratively within a multi-specialty clinic setting

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information:

• West Virginia medical license required

• Comfort level with various procedures and patient populations will be assessed during the application process
