Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Trauma

Job Description

We are seeking a Trauma Nurse Practitioner for a 6-day assignment in Pennsylvania, starting Dec 23, 2026. This vital role involves comprehensive inpatient coverage for Trauma and Emergency General Surgery services, with 7a-7p shifts. Responsibilities include conducting AM rounds, providing OR first assisting with robotics cases, managing new consults and trauma activations, and overseeing critical care patients. The ideal candidate will provide essential support within a Trauma Center.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide inpatient coverage for Trauma and Emergency General Surgery service.
• Conduct AM rounds and provide OR first assisting with robotics cases.
• Manage new Emergency General Surgery consults and the inpatient service.
• Oversee and manage trauma activations and critical care patients.
• Perform bedside procedures including I&Ds, laceration repairs, chest tube placement, and central line placement.
• Perform procedures such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, trauma ex lap, colon resections, graham patch repairs, and hernia repairs.

• Required Board Certifications: General Surgery
• EMR: Epic
• Average census of 20 patients per day.
• Two Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are staffed during the day, and one APP at night, working in tandem with Trauma/Acute Care Surgeons.
