Job Description

We are seeking a licensed Psychologist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Kansas. This position starts on Sep 15, 2025, and includes 1st shift, 8-hour days, covering both weekdays and weekends. The psychologist will be integral in providing mental health services, conducting assessments, and participating in a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive inmate care.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other health service providers to ensure integrated and comprehensive care.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on patient needs and functioning levels.
  • Regularly assess inmates in segregated and confined housing to determine mental health treatment needs.
  • Apply psychological counseling theory and techniques in managing individual caseloads.
  • Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention.
  • Consult with various medical and security staff to understand and mitigate behavioral escalations.
