Responsibilities and Duties
Perform psychological screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, mental health service providers, physicians, nurses, social workers, and other clinical staff to integrate treatment activities and ensure patient care follow-through.
Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans to meet the needs and level of functioning of inmates.
Conduct regular rounds in segregation and confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.
Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions for inmates in crisis.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques.
Consult with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, and security staff to gather insights into problematic behaviors and changes in mental health conditions of inmates.
Additional Information
Must hold a valid California license as a Psychologist.
Requires minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
U.S. Citizenship required for ICE clearance.
Candidates will undergo a thorough background and credit investigation for clearance.
