Job Description

We are seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist for a locum tenens assignment in Ohio starting Oct 2, 2025. This 10-day opportunity involves 24-hour on-call shifts with coverage dates on Oct 2, 4, and 5. The role consists primarily of newborn care, with additional pediatric and adolescent patient responsibilities. Qualified candidates must hold an active Ohio license, Ohio DEA, BLS, and NRP, and have experience with newborns, X-ray interpretation, and circumcision. Board certification is preferred, but board-eligible candidates within five years of residency will be considered.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide 24-hour on-call hospitalist coverage for newborn, pediatric, and adolescent patients
  • Manage a patient caseload with an average daily census of 3–4 newborns; pediatric patients average 0–1 every two months
  • Perform newborn procedures, including circumcision and umbilical venous/arterial catheterization (UVC/UAC highly preferred)
  • Interpret X-rays as required
  • Supervise and allow observation by medical students during newborn patient rounds
  • Respond to emergent and routine clinical needs within a 30-minute timeframe
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and protocols
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care and safety


Additional Information

  • Active Ohio medical license, Ohio DEA, BLS, and NRP required
  • Board certified preferred; board eligible within five years of residency considered
  • Newborn experience required; UVC/UAC experience highly preferred
  • Must be available for all listed coverage dates
