Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a skilled Pediatric Anesthesiologist for a 60-day locum tenens position at a hospital in Oklahoma. The assignment begins on 11/24/2025, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, preferably 5 days a week from 7 am to 5 pm. The physician will be responsible for providing anesthesia services for both adult and pediatric cases, including complex surgical procedures. The role involves performing spinal blocks, peripheral blocks, ventilator management, post-op extremity blocks, arterial line placement, and central line placement. The anesthesiologist will work independently on cases and may have opportunities to supervise residents and CRNAs. This position offers a diverse clinical experience in a trauma center with a NICU.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide anesthesia services for adult and pediatric patients

• Perform spinal blocks, peripheral blocks, and post-op extremity blocks

• Manage ventilators for patients under anesthesia

• Place arterial lines and central lines as needed

• Handle complex surgical cases and potential trauma situations

• Work independently on assigned cases

• Supervise residents and CRNAs when required

• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures

• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals

• Adapt to various case types and patient needs

• Utilize the Epic electronic health record system

• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures

• Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards of care


Additional Information:

• Oklahoma state license required

• Experience in both adult and pediatric anesthesiology essential

• Comfort with trauma cases and complex surgeries preferred

• Strong communication and leadership skills necessary

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
