Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Obstetrician/Gynecologist for a 42-day locum tenens assignment in Iowa. This opportunity begins on Jan 1, 2026, and features a 7a-7a 24-hour call schedule, with 6.5 shifts per month. The assignment focuses on providing care to OBED patients, including emergent cases involving vaginal deliveries and C-sections, as well as patients without a primary OBGYN.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide comprehensive care to OBED patients, including emergent obstetric cases
  • Manage and perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections
  • Care for patients without a primary OBGYN
  • Participate as part of Iowa’s only maternity transport team
  • Respond to emergent patient needs and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams


Additional Information

  • Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology required (truly board eligible candidates considered)
  • Active Iowa license or IMLC required (LOQ must be uploaded at time of name clear)
  • Clean malpractice and background history required
