Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a board-certified OB/GYN physician for a 60-day locum tenens assignment at a hospital in Iowa. The assignment begins on 12/01/2025, with flexible 12-hour or 24-hour call shifts based on the candidate's preference. The ideal physician will be proficient in a wide range of obstetric and gynecological procedures, including managing low and high-risk pregnancies, performing various deliveries (vaginal, C-section, VBAC), and conducting both minor and major gynecological surgeries. This role requires expertise in fetal monitoring, OB ultrasounds, and laparoscopic procedures. The position utilizes Epic EMR and offers a chance for extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage low and high-risk pregnancies

• Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring (NST/CST/FSE)

• Conduct Level I/Screening OB ultrasounds

• Perform amniocentesis procedures

• Execute routine and complicated deliveries, including C-sections, breech, and multiple births

• Manage VBAC deliveries • Repair 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations

• Conduct open and laparoscopic gynecological surgeries

• Perform minor procedures such as tubal ligations and adhesiolysis

• Execute major gynecological procedures including ectopic pregnancy management, ovary removal, and cystectomy

• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and care coordination

• Provide on-call coverage as scheduled

• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare providers

• Ensure high-quality patient care and safety standards are met
