Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in OB/GYN for a locum tenens position in Colorado. This 30-day assignment begins on 07/23/2025, with a potential for extension. The schedule includes 7a-5p shifts with one hour unpaid lunch, plus night call from 5p-7a (2.5 hours gratis). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in inpatient, emergency room, clinic, and Trauma settings. Responsibilities include first assisting on laparoscopic surgeries, performing pelvic exams, pap smears, simple biopsies, surgical assists, and ED consults. The role also involves rounding on patients, taking calls, triaging problem visits, and managing in-basket tasks using the Epic system.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• First assist on laparoscopic surgeries (hysterectomy, BSO, resection of masses, pelvic and para-aortic lymph node dissections, Ex Laps)

• Perform pelvic exams, pap smears, and simple biopsies

• Provide surgical assistance and consultations in the Emergency Department

• Round on patients and manage in-basket tasks

• Triage problem visits and take calls

• Work in various settings including inpatient, emergency room, clinic, and Trauma

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals

• Ensure patient safety and provide high-quality care

• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation

• Adhere to all facility protocols and safety standards


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Colorado

• Experience in OB/GYN required

• Comfort with laparoscopic surgeries and emergency care essential

• Strong communication and teamwork skills required

• Proficiency in Epic EHR system necessary
