Job Description

We are seeking a Neurological Surgeon for a 45-day locum tenens assignment in Colorado, specializing in both adult and trauma Neurosurgery. This pivotal role starts on Nov 17, 2025, covering 24-hour shifts from Thursday to Monday. The successful candidate will manage complex neurosurgical procedures in a dynamic healthcare setting using the Epic EMR system.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct adult and trauma neurosurgery cases including tumor removal and trauma repair.
  • Perform shunt insertion or revision, cranial burr holes, and procedures for intracranial pressure monitoring.
  • Manage critical neurosurgical conditions such as intracranial hemorrhage and traumatic brain injuries.
  • Execute complex spinal procedures like diskectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusion, and spine stabilization.
  • Place arterial and venous access, administer vasoactive or sedating substances.
  • Undertake lumbar puncture, lumbar drains placement, and CSF sampling.
  • Interpret EEGs and manage external ventricular drains.
  • Apply and manage therapeutic hypothermia protocols.


Additional Information

  • Board certification in Neurological Surgery required.
  • Active Colorado medical license necessary.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and ATLS are mandatory.
  • COVID vaccination is required.
