Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Breast Imaging Radiologist for a locum tenens position at a hospital in California. This opportunity offers 12 days of coverage spread across multiple dates from October to December, covering vacation periods including Thanksgiving and year-end holidays. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a high volume of breast imaging cases, including mammography, breast MRI, and various breast procedures. The role involves screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasounds, MRI interpretations, and performing biopsies. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Radiologist specializing in breast imaging, looking for a flexible, short-term assignment in a hospital setting.

LOA: 12 days (non-consecutive)

Provider Type Needed: Breast Imaging Radiologist

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 4 days per week


Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform and interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms

• Conduct and interpret breast MRI examinations

• Perform and interpret breast ultrasounds

• Carry out stereotactic, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided breast biopsies

• Handle an average daily caseload of approximately 57 exams, including: 41 screening mammograms; 7 diagnostic mammograms; 2 breast MRIs; 5 breast ultrasounds; 1-2 breast biopsies (various modalities)

• Work efficiently in 2-3 exam rooms

• Provide care primarily for adult women (35+) with breast imaging needs

• Utilize Epic EMR system, Powerscribe for reporting, and Hologic imaging equipment


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed in California

• Familiarity with Epic, Powerscribe, and Hologic systems preferred
