Job Description

We are seeking a Hospitalist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in South Carolina, starting Nov 15, 2025. The position offers a flexible schedule with day and night shifts and requires availability for at least 7 shifts per month. This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified Hospitalist interested in providing high-quality inpatient care.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage acute inpatient cases including sepsis, bacteremia, pneumonia (CAP, HCAP, aspiration), congestive heart failure exacerbation, COPD exacerbation, and acute or chronic kidney injury
  • Treat uncontrolled diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS)
  • Evaluate and manage chest pain and acute coronary syndrome rule-outs
  • Address gastrointestinal bleeding (upper and lower), cellulitis, soft tissue infections
  • Assess and treat syncope, near syncope, hypertensive urgency, and emergency
  • Complete all required documentation and case logs
  • Attend in-person EMR training prior to first shift as coordinated by PCC


Additional Information

  • Must be residency trained in specialty and board certified in Hospital Medicine
  • Active Texas license required
  • Current ACLS and ATLS certifications required
  • 8 hours of Stroke CME and 8 hours of Trauma CME required
  • Provide CME and case logs from the past 2 years
  • Submit copies of all education and training diplomas, immunization records (TB, Flu, Hep B, MMR, Varicella), Social Security card, driver's license, and a color photo
  • In-person EMR training must be completed prior to first shift; privileging is not required before training
