Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified Hospitalist for a 36-day locum tenens assignment in Missouri. This position begins Jan 5, 2026, and includes 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am). The Hospitalist will provide care in a trauma ED with an open ICU, managing a variety of acute cases in an emergency department.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide hospital medicine services for admitted patients, including those in the emergency department and ICU
  • Manage acute care and trauma cases as part of a trauma team
  • Work independently in an open ICU setting
  • Maintain accurate and timely case logs, with at least 2 years of documentation for emergency medicine procedures
  • Deliver care to a patient population with approximately 10 percent admission rate
  • Collaborate with ED staff; no scribe coverage provided
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols and hospital policies


Additional Information

  • Missouri state license, board certification, and DEA required in hand before start
  • Board certification in Hospital Medicine required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
  • Previous ER experience required for Family Practice or Internal Medicine backgrounds
