Job Description

We are seeking a Hospitalist for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Florida, starting Dec 28, 2025. This opportunity features day shifts with on-call responsibilities, including weekday (7a-2p + call) and weekend (7a-12p + call) coverage. The ideal candidate brings experience in rural hospital medicine and excels in collaborative, inpatient care environments.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct inpatient rounds, admissions, and discharges
  • Participate in morning huddles and consult with subspecialties
  • Communicate care plans effectively to patients and families
  • Manage straightforward admissions, including CHF and COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, UTI/AMS, cellulitis, chest pain rule-outs, completed non-endovascular stroke workups, observation blood transfusions, hospice/palliative contract beds, and occasional observation patients for PT/OT
  • Collaborate with strong nursing and case management support teams
  • Coordinate patient transfers as needed
  • Utilize Meditech EHR system for documentation


Additional Information

  • Florida medical license required
  • Rural hospital medicine experience is a plus
  • ED handles all floor codes and procedures
