Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide 24-hour solo hospitalist coverage, including admissions, rounding, and overnight call
- Begin morning rounds between 7:00am and 8:00am as facility operations dictate
- Conduct informal evening rounds with ED and nursing staff to address potential issues proactively
- Evaluate and manage admissions, prioritizing in-person assessment of patients from the ED
- Utilize transition orders as appropriate for overnight admissions; round on these patients the following morning
- Perform immediate bedside evaluations for all high acuity ICU admissions
- Identify and prioritize patient discharges in coordination with interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure timely completion of discharge processes for optimal patient flow and room turnover
- Accurately document all patient care activities in the Epic EMR system
Additional Information
- Active Colorado medical license required
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine with Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine required
- Minimum 1 year of autonomous hospitalist experience required
- ACLS certification required
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
