Job Description

 Wellhart is seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Hospitalist care for a locum tenens position in Michigan. This 7-day assignment begins on 08/10/2025. The schedule follows a 7 on/7 off pattern, with 12-hour night shifts from 8 PM to 8 AM. The NP will be responsible for managing a diverse range of cases in a hospital setting, including ICU patients. Key responsibilities include performing various procedures such as intubations, central line placements, and ventilator management. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a facility with licensed beds, including ICU beds, and managing an average daily census of around 10 patients with 2-4 new admissions per day.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage ICU and hospital patients in an open ICU model
  • Perform various procedures including:
  • Intubations (direct and indirect laryngoscopy)
  • Central venous and arterial catheter insertion and management
  • Lumbar punctures
  • Chest tube insertions
  • Tracheostomy care and tube changes
  • Ventilator management and weaning
  • External pacing adjustments
  • Management of tension pneumothorax in emergent situations
  • Administer moderate sedation
  • Handle 2-4 new admissions per day
  • Manage an average daily census of 10 patients
  • Utilize Dragon and Epic electronic health record systems
