We are seeking a Hematologist-Oncologist for a locum tenens assignment in Rhode Island beginning Nov 10, 2025. This role spans 248 days and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver comprehensive direct patient care primarily in hematology and oncology, including expert consultation and treatment in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Maintain timely attendance for all scheduled clinics; estimated clinical load is 5 hours of inpatient coverage and 26 hours of bookable clinic time per week, with an average of 2 patients per hour during bookable time
  • Provide discharge education and coordinated follow-up instructions for all hematology-oncology patients
  • Adhere to established medication policies and procedures; do not dispense sample medications
  • Ensure effective communication of test results to patients and providers, following all applicable directives
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and required committee meetings
  • Complete clinical follow-up and other assigned tasks, such as tumor board discussions

Additional Information
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience strongly preferred
  • Must hold a valid license to practice (any state)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • EMR system: CPRS
