Job Description
Our client in California seeks a Hematologist/Oncologist Physician for a 248-day assignment starting Jun 15, 2026. This role involves comprehensive direct patient care, including evaluation, treatment, and management of hospitalized medical patients, with a consistent schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide direct patient care, assessing, stabilizing, and determining the disposition of inpatients in critical/acute care settings.
- Conduct evaluation, treatment, and management of hospitalized medical patients.
- Perform admissions, including history and physical examinations, and consultations.
- Facilitate appropriate patient placement within the hospital.
- Engage in discussions of end-of-life preferences and advanced care planning.
- Execute timely and proactive discharge planning and coordinate care with primary care physicians.
- Provide perioperative care.
- Run code teams and rapid response teams as needed.
- Perform procedures such as abscess incision and drainage, and removal of lines and tubes.
- Provide outpatient clinical Hematology services.
