Job Description

We are seeking a General Surgeon for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Kentucky, beginning Dec 22, 2025. This role involves 24-hour on-call shifts, providing consultations from the ED and handling general surgery cases in a hospital setting. The selected candidate will also manage minimal after-hours clinic support and may be involved with ICU patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Respond to calls from the Emergency Department (ED)
  • Conduct hospital general surgery consultations
  • Provide after-hours call support for the clinic (minimal volume)
  • Participate in the care of ICU patients
  • Adhere to the EMTALA call schedule requirements


Additional Information

  • Must be Board Certified in General Surgery
  • Active Kentucky medical license required or IMLC participants acceptable
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Preferred candidates will have a clean background and be COVID vaccinated by the time of credentialing
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR system
